gift giving3The greatest gift you can give is to give of yourself. In a time when everyone is so very busy it is easier to send a quick text, order an Amazon gift or just send money. Many people find it easier to give to a stranger than to work out the relationships that make up their own neighborhoods or family. Giving of your time and energy are your greatest gifts to others.

First realize your own value. Even if you think you have nothing to give others, realize that you are unique in this world. Nobody is the same as you are. Your thoughts and view of life are individual to you. And no other person has your unique circumstances each day that blossom with opportunity to give.

In a world where you can’t even reach a live person on the phone, everyone craves a personal touch. Sometimes the best gift you can give is to listen. You have the ability to change someone’s day whole day if you are conscious of it; all you have to do is to offer a look, a smile, a touch, or a kind word. How about random acts of kindness? Here are Ideas

Be grateful. Research shows that 3 times more positive things happen to us than negative things every day, so focus on those things. Be positive and pass that attitude on to others. Have something positive to say rather than complain and reinforce negativity. This positive energy is a gift that keeps on giving as it passes from one person to another. Happiness is contagious.

However, don’t forget to take care of yourself. You have nothing to give others when your own well is empty. You have heard that you can only love someone else if you first love yourself, it is true. Show yourself compassion and kindness and then pass it on.

You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy. Author Unknown
