We all know we should be grateful. And we are—when we think about it, when things are going right, when we look at the poor who have less and we are glad we’re not like them. But gratitude is so much more!
Gratitude is a state of consciousness that changes our view of the world and therefore our experience of it. It colors our reality with the energy of the heart, revealing beauty, oneness and the rightness of life even as it unfolds. While holding the space of gratitude within, externals actually change as if by magic.
With practice we can always be in the consciousness of gratitude regardless of the conditions that assail us.
How is that possible?
- First establish a daily tone of gratitude each morning when you wake up with the affirmation: “I AM grateful for another day. I AM grateful for another opportunity to be my Higher Self” This reminds you that as the day unfolds you will have the opportunity to choose how you will think, believe, act and react. If you only do one thing each day this is the most important.
- Develop the habit of listing just five things that you are grateful for each day. Do not repeat. This makes you focus on and look for the things that are right and things that you love. The incidents that go wrong in the day demand your attention, suck your energy, and control your life experience. Take back your life.
Why do you want to do this?
The obvious answer is to have a happier life, to experience the joy that is yours through the vision of all that you have been given. Life IS an adventure to be experienced with enthusiasm every day. Life is NOT a test, a drudgery of failed dreams, and life is NOT hard. If that is your belief then practice daily gratitude, it will transform your life I promise you!
