Everyone has asked the question, what am I doing here at one point or another. Sometimes, if one is serious about getting the answer, the reasons become crystal clear. As I teach in my workshops; our experience of reality is created from our dreams, thoughts, beliefs, feelings and actions.
As you discover your sometimes sub-conscious beliefs it becomes fairly obvious why things happen the way they do. And yet sometimes the way the magic of life unfolds is a true mystery. It is even a rollercoaster thrill ride of adventure.
Some days before my BIG QUANDRY about what am I doing here, I read a prediction that “this was my big year,” the culmination of my last 12 years of effort and I was going to reap the benefits. So I waited for the big revelation to materialize and the perfect job to appear, even as the two jobs that I thought were just perfect were denied me.
Finally I was hired to drive a part-time shuttle at the hospital. Depressed and confused, I deliberated about my menial part-time job driving a shuttle. Why was this the job I was hired for, when my experience and talents dictated that I could and should be doing so much more? Why I asked the heavens, what am I doing here?
At this point I was not really on speaking terms with God but I had sent out my intention to the Universe and was working the “Law of Attraction” as best I could. I wanted a meaningful fulfilling way to contribute to the world. The scriptures say,
“Ask and ye shall receive. Seek and ye shall find… And knock and it will open unto you.”
I am here to tell you that you can and will get divine answers from your Higher Self, the Universal Mind, Collective Consciousness, God, the Universe or wherever you believe answers come from. And as I meditated upon this truth and my question for several days I received an answer to why I had that particular job in a most amazing way.
One afternoon lady appeared at my shuttle stop asking for directions to the front door to the hospital. She said that she was there for her friend whose 34 yr. old son was brought into the emergency room and had died there. I asked her to wait one minute while I completed a required task and I would take her to the front door. When I turn around, she had vanished and I had goose bumps.
It dawned to me that maybe the reason that I had my current job driving around and around the hospital was in order to give direction to the souls there. At the very least, it gave me purpose.
The only way I could think of to help was to pray for those people there who were ill, who were in mourning, or who needed directions to a higher plain. This came as a surprise to me since I am not good at praying—and way out of practice. Still it was apparent that this was with the answer I was seeking.
Since I had asked the question expecting an answer and had received one, I supposed that I had better do what I was impress to do. Prayer I thought, was beyond me but I was comfortable with calling on the angels for help. I had been taught that angels are all around us waiting to assist and serve mankind. And in truth, there is no call to heaven that goes unheard.
So I started by calling on Angels to help those in need at the hospital. Prayer, formal prayer, would have to wait I told myself until I had made my peace with “God the Father.” I thought that I could search out the resources to learn to pray in a way that would do some good. I definitely had lots of time to think, pray and meditate while driving round and round the hospital.
Looking back, this was one of those turning point events that lead me down a path I never could have imagined in my wildest dreams. It lead to the bigger picture of what I am doing here.
